Music Education major Eli Denson’s music premièred by MSU’s Men of State
Junior Music Education major Eli Denson’s original composition for male choir, “When Great Souls Die,” was premièred by Mississippi State University’s Men of State at the annual Spring Choral Concert, held at the MSU Amphitheatre on March 26, 2021, under the direction of Dr. Gary Packwood. Based on a poem by Maya Angelou, Eli’s work explores how loss can bring pause, clarity, regret, and catharsis.
